In fact, Shardul Thakur won the 9th match over. The fourth ball of the over saw Bangladesh captain Liton Das attempt to play the shot. The ball didn’t hit the bat correctly and it took an outside edge, and went backwards.
Rohit Sharma stood in the slips and tried to catch the ball, but the speed was too fast. He felt the ball touch his thumb and palm. He was unable to take the catch. Rohit began to moan in pain after this. He was able to get up from the ground. He was later taken to the hospital for an Xray, as he realized the severity of his injury.
